Russia launches Iranian satellite

Russia launches off Iranian satellite from Kazakhstan on Tuesday.

Russian space agency chief Yury Borisov hailed and termed this launch as major milestone in Russian-Iranian bilateral cooperation.

The launch was termed historic by Iran’s Telecommunications Minister Issa Zarepour, who was also present at  the launch of the Khayyam satellite.

The United States viewed the launch as threat to itself and to  its allies as Moscow might use it for  surveillance of military targets in Ukraine.
